New Advocacy Efforts in 2024
Hearing loss advocacy continued strong in 2024, including 19 speaking engagements and dozens of articles published across a variety of publications. New this year, I became a regular host for This Week in Hearing, a video podcast produced by Hearing Health & Technology Matters. It’s been fun to connect with other hearing loss advocates and to learn from so many others in the industry.
Hear & Beyond: Live Skillfully with Hearing Loss continues strong! In 2024, its formula for skillful living with hearing loss inspired educational trainings for corporations, audiologist groups, teachers, caregivers, and students. Grab your copy on Amazon here. If you liked the book, please write a review on Amazon or on your favorite book review site. Reviews help others find the book too.
New in 2024, Hear & Beyond was part of a pilot at the University of Connecticut to expand community-engaged learning for audiology students. Professor Kathy Cienkowski and I presented on this successful program at the 2024 ASHA Convention. We hope other professors will be inspired to include the book in their classrooms this year. For more information, please be in touch.
